How to Make Wedding Flowers – Four Easy Steps to Follow For Making Wedding Flowers

Today even a conservative wedding can run well over $10,000.00. Many thrifty couples are looking for ways to save money on their momentous day. Making your won wedding bouquet can save you hundreds of dollars. There’s nothing as memorable as the new bride walking down the aisle with a bouquet of beautiful flowers. With a few quick steps and a little creativity you can make a perfect bouquet at home.

First off, do a little research. Look for ideas in wedding books, magazines and the Internet to find the flowers and arrangement that you like. Make sure to choose flowers that will compliment the general color scheme of the wedding. Consult with a florist to check the availability of the flowers you would like to use.

Step 1
Purchase a bouquet holder. You can usually find these at most craft supply stores and they should only cost a couple of bucks. They usually come with floral foam, but if not this will need to be purchased as well.

Step 2.
Soak the bouquet holder and allow the water to absorb into the floral foam. Remove it from the water and dry the exterior.

Step 3
Get out your arrangement ideas and start placing the flowers in the desired arrangement. Place each stem 1-2inches into the foam or until it stands up on its own in the foam. Most bouquets start at the bottom with green leafy filler items that act as a base color for the bouquet. Make sure to hold the stem of the flower up to the holder before cutting it to make sure it’s exactly how you want it. For a cascade effect on the handle, add more green filler plant such as ivy or fern. Trim this as need for the proper shape.

Step 4
Many bouquets have an ornate bow in front or lace, ribbon or plastic pearls. Make sure the colors compliment the overall wedding colors. You want all the colors to blend pleasantly.

You can make your bouquet several days before the big day, or you can even make it sooner and have it stored by a professional florist.

Its not too difficult and can be a very rewarding and fun experience. Not to mention youll save money since you wont have to pay a florist to arrange the flowers.

The first thing to keep in mind when learning how to make a flower bouquet is to start small. If you try to make a huge and ostentatious bouquet right off the bat, its probably going to end poorly. Some flowers have naturally fragile stems, and these tools will help keep them sturdy.

Binding together a bouquet so that it will hold together is the easy part. The tougher part is arranging the flowers in a subtle, yet eye-catching way. Theres no sure fire way to do this sometimes you have to rely on trial and error until you get it perfect. Choosing a season for your wedding is one of the most important considerations when it comes to the big day. Each season has the potential to offer a unique and enchanting landscape to your wedding. Fall may not seem like the best time for a wedding, given that its the season of fading, rather than one of growth. However, with the right choice of fall wedding flowers and other decorations, you can take advantage of the beautiful colors of this under appreciated season.

Fall offers some color choices that wouldnt be sensible for other seasons: bright oranges and flaming reds are a perfect fit. There are a lot of beautiful fall wedding flowers to choose from when building your arrangements. Mini calla lilies are a perfect fit for autumn, as they come in a variety of bold hues. Another common choice for fall brides is the hydrangea, another pretty flower that has a wide range of colors, allowing for fine-tuning. The rose, a romantic classic, can also find its way into fall arrangements so long as you find deeper, darker tones.

The fall also presents an opportunity for some added creativity for your wedding arrangements. Certain types of berries and vines prove to be a fantastic accent to a standard bouquet of fall wedding flowers. With some careful attention to detail, the exotic and magical setting that autumn provides will leave you with an absolutely unforgettable wedding.
